My wife’s great-grandfather was a man from San Carlos with a joyful heart and an enterprising spirit, known for his generous nature. With dedication, he worked the land and planted coffee, bearing witness to the rhythms of the harvest.

In those days, when the beans reached their perfect ripeness, Don Raúl would gaze upon the fields and, with affection, describe that unique hue by saying ‘El café está color castaño(The coffee is chestnut-colored). That simple phrase, spoken by a man who loved the land, echoed in our hearts years later.

And so, wishing to honor his memory and legacy, my wife and I decided to pay him a lasting tribute, giving our project the surname his own words inspired Castaño. With pride, we carry the name of the man who saw beauty and promise in the ripe fruit.
